Five Key Focus Areas for Tech Leaders In recent years, the role of the CIO has been evolving as technology continues to play an increasingly important role in business operations. In 2023, CIOs continue to focus on the following areas: Digital transformation Cybersecurity Cloud computing Artificial intelligence and machine learning Data management Digital transformation In 2023, CIOs will continue to lead the digital transformation efforts of their organizations. This will involve adopting new technologies such as AI, machine learning, blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT) to streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and drive revenue growth. Optimizing Operations for Your Organization The more I interact with various organizations, the more the issues seem to align. Custom ERP solutions can solve majority of the issues that the company is experiencing. In this article, we’ll take a look at what are some of the advantages of customizing your ERP experience. I typically, 95%+ of the time, disagree with custom ERP solutions, but for the sake of this article, let’s explore some advantages. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are an essential part of modern businesses, and their importance cannot be overstated. ERP software is designed to help organizations streamline
A Roadmap to Fulfillment and Success Uncertainty: You’ll go through it several times in your life. The tech sector moves lightning fast, so you’ll probably experience highs and lows numerous times throughout your career; it’ll be much faster than your non-tech counterparts. Just when you feel you have it figured out, you’ll have a wrench thrown into your plan. You’ll have to be adaptable and understand that sometimes you have to throw it away while other times you simply change your strategy. I believe that most of us understand that we’ll need to be lifelong learners from this point on.
Streamlining, Scalability, and Seamless Collaboration It’s 2023 and we’re still having this conversation. I’m sitting here, writing this article and listening to the Lex Fridman’s interview with Ginni Rometty. Early in the interview, Ginni mentions that the thing that they looked for from candidates wasn’t a college degree (even though they started off that way), instead it was a willingness to change. I’ve spoken to many senior developers that still don’t believe in Docker or how it might help them. They’re focused on the way that they’ve developed for the past 10 years and are not interested in
The Crucial Role of CIOs in Educating and Collaborating on IT Decisions One role that IT serves is maintenance inside of the organization. The role of the CIO/IT Director many times is speaking and educating individuals within the organization on why certain IT decisions are made. These are not siloed decisions but are instead collaborative and fully vetted from the business side. Sometimes they look unnecessary, but in reality they are. Most IT departments have more work than they can handle and are not looking to add on additional unnecessary work onto their plate. Which means that when specific IT
Scary or Amazing? The good part is that Chat GPT is still underutilized. Most people have heard about it by now, but most are not using it. If they did, they would see just how powerful it really is. Even when they do, it’ll take some time for them to understand how to communicate with it. For the developer community, it’s pretty simple and we’re understanding the scope of its capabilities…and it’s frightening. I started noticing a downward trend in the last month with my articles. They’re getting less interaction and even the earning is a quarter of what it
Overkill or Overpower for Web Development? I recently decided to switch back to a PC away from my all Apple products. I have an iMac 27″ and the MacBook Air that I use both for development. Unfortunately the retina displays just mess with my eyes way too much and I wanted something with a matte display that’s a little better on the eyes. After looking through the lineup, most of the laptops that had any real spec to them were gaming laptops. Out of the gaming laptops, the one that stood out the most to me was the Alienware x14.
